- Effective Response to Public Opinion on SNS during Natural Disasters : Analyzing Flood Cases of Local Governments in China -
This paper aims to conduct an in-depth investigation into the factors influencing the transmission of crisis information in the SNS environment. By integrating both domestic and international research findings with practical examples, specifically the response to the 2018 Shouguang flood, it analyzes prevailing challenges and the underlying causes of these dynamics. The study proposes the development of a comprehensive, scientific, and efficient public opinion response system to enhance governmental handling of social media during significant natural disaster events. This approach seeks not only to safeguard the public's trust but also to support more effective disaster relief and recovery operations. Additionally, the paper provides reference materials and models for governments to effectively respond to SNS (Social Networking Service) opinions on significant natural disasters, with a particular emphasis on the role of microblogs. This emphasis is aimed at protecting the substantial interests of citizens and maintaining the government's positive image and social credibility. Given the spontaneous, destructive, complex, and prolonged characteristics of significant natural disasters, higher demands are placed on the government's management capabilities.
